Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the party’s delegates to support a candidate who will help the NPP win the presidency in the 2024 general elections.
In order to ‘break the 8’, he claimed, the NPP needs a candidate with expertise and a proven track record in administration, not merely a wealthy individual.
“As the presidential primaries approach. We require a retention specialist. Instead of a wealthier man, the party needs a leader who is unselfish. We require a humble person. Someone with experience is what we require. We require a temperamental person. We require a leader with fresh ideas and tolerance for all people, according to Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia is vying to lead the party as its flag bearer in the elections of 2024.
Former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen, former Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh, former Railways and Development Minister Joe Ghartey, and former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko are among the NPP stalwarts running for flagbearer.
