Asaase radio, a pro-NPP media outlet, said in a report that Anas’ agents met with the Finance Minister in Dubai. They claimed that during their five-minute conversation, the minister became annoyed when the Tiger Eye team tried to ‘entrap’ him with a financial gift.

According to the report, Tiger Eye P.I. agents pretended to be investors looking to make investments in Ghana and required a meeting with the minister to explore potential and other business-related matters.

Further evidence showed that the investigators had previously met with Charles Adu Boahen, Ofori-deputy, Atta’s in a hotel suite in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2018. At that time, Adu Boahen, who has since been fired, was given money in exchange for assisting the investors in gaining access to people like Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

After their meeting, they went on to meet briefly with Ken Ofori-Atta as he was travelling to Tokyo for work at the Dubai airport.

According to the report, neither the minister nor his personal assistant took the Tiger Eye P.I. team’s financial gift.

“Mr. Ofori-Atta was informed that the meeting would be with the chairman of the Al Baraka Islamic Bank of Bahrain, who had expressed interest in investing $500 million to establish a “ethical” bank in Ghana.

“According to our checks, the meeting lasted about five minutes. After being offered a “present” that he declined, Ken Ofori-Atta became very irate and left the location with his PA, who had also been offered a gift that was also turned down, according to the Asaase radio story.
