The Minister of State for Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, has made several accusatory statements that have been recorded, according to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The deputy minister, who was being recorded by Anas undercover agents posing as investors, stated among other things that if they want the vice president’s support and influence in starting a business in Ghana, they only need to pay Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia an appearance fee of $200,000 and secure positions for his siblings.

In a summary posted on social media hours before the debut of the investigative piece titled Galamsey Economy, Anas claimed that Adu Boahen made a promise to the alleged business tycoon to introduce him to the authorities in Ghana, including the President, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, and the Vice President, in exchange for being given bundles of US dollars to use for shopping.

Along the way, the deputy minister is alleged to have made overtures to the alleged investors in an effort to persuade them to purchase Ghanaian government bonds.

You are not permitted to purchase any debt instruments, though. We do, in fact, issue bonds. You are aware that we recently issued these energy bonds. Is he permitted to do that? Can you buy bonds? According to reports, the deputy minister made a last-ditch effort to convince the investors after they ignored his suggestion.

Charles Adu Boahen, Ghana’s Minister of State for Finance, was fired as a result of this, according to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Some Ghanaians have responded to this development on social media.

While some Ghanaians consider Anas Aremeyaw Anas to be powerful, others want for his prosecution.

Charles Adu Boahen is deserving of a life sentence in jail. How in the world could you use Bawumia’s name to commit such fraud is beyond me. Thank God Anas exposed them all, stated mingle tweets.

“Anas is more potent than the 80 MPs who demand the dismissal of the Finance Minister and his deputy. Charles Adu Boahen was fired as a result of a simple word from Anas, papakwesi jr revealed.
