#Occupyjurlobi house – Police prevent peaceful Ghanaians from protesting on day 2 despite the severe economic hardship

Day 2 of the “Occupy Julorbi House” protests is currently under way and the Police have blocked peaceful protestors from protesting

The protest, organised by pressure group “Democracy Hub” is to call on “the President and members of the Economic Management Team to #FixTheCountry in light of the level of economic mismanagement and theft that has engulfed our government from the highest levels.”

Ghanaians protesting

Day 1 of the protests, on Thursday, September 21, took a different turn when protestors were arrested and detained by the Police.

About 49 protestors were arrested and detained at various police stations in the city. They were later released in the wee hours of the day.

Celebrities were lambasted by their fans for staying mute and not joining the ordinary Ghanaian to protest.
