Sarah Adwoa Safo,, the embattled Minister of Gender and Social Protection, who has failed to return to work despite having arrived in the nation more than two weeks ago, has been given the last deadline to go to work or face being fired from her ministerial position.

Even after Adwoa Safo’s extended leave of absence expired and she landed in Ghana, Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who was supposed to temporarily serve as caretaker Minister of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, continued to act.

After the Minority claimed she was missing from Parliament when the House adopted the 2022 budget, the MP for Dome Kwabenya has been the target of controversy.

Following this incident, the President forbade all international travel for ministers and other high government officials, thus aggravating Adwoa Sad’s problems.

She had planned to sneak out again before the President declared the restriction, according to sources.

Adwoa Safo took her long leave as a minister after the President ordered the reinstatement of Mrs Gertrude Quashigah who was the National Coordinator of the School feeding program after she had earlier dismissed her.

According to a source, Mrs Quashigah is the wife of late Major Courage Quashigah and therefore has the backing of the President.

But Adwoa Safo who isn’t pleased with the turn of the event stated emphatically that she couldn’t work with Mrs Quashigah.

Rumours have it that there are some groups lobbying for Mrs Quashigah to be named as the Minister of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection should Adwoa Safo resign or get sacked by President Nana Addo.
