The National Cathedral project should be transformed into a national hospital, the Trades Union Congress has urged the government.
The TUC advises the government direct extra monies from non-essential spending into the growth of productive companies, opening up opportunities for employment.
The subject of the 2023 May Day parade is “Protecting Incomes and Pensions in an Era of Economic Crisis: Our Responsibility.”
The TUC Secretary-General, Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah, said that turning the cathedral project into a hospital will better serve Ghanaians while speaking at the 2023 May Day parade in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.
“As Ghanaians, we must do action to improve the situation. We have a strong belief that government can help us get out of this crisis, and that government can do so by reducing spending on non-essentials like building a national cathedral.
