He had just arrived at his home when the robbers numbering two pointed guns at him and took the Toyota Hilux double cabin Pickup with registration number GV 301-22 and sped off.

Police in Tamale have since confirmed the incident to Asempafie.com and indicated that there is a haunt for the robbers.

This is the umpteenth time such incidents have been recorded within the Tamale Metropolis.

It would be recalled that in July 2019, a Toyota Hilux pickup used by the then Savannah Regional Minister, Salifu Adam Braimah was snatched at gunpoint in a similar fashion.

The Minister was travelling to Accra by flight for a meeting and parked the vehicle with registration number ER 3516-19 at one Iliasu’s house when at about 9:00 pm two armed men wielding AK-47 riffles came to the house and took the vehicle away.

A Landcruiser Prado was also on Friday, April 29, 2022, snatched at gunpoint from its owner at Tamale in the Northern Region.

The victim John Kwose Emmanuel affectionately called Captain among his peers, disclosed to Asempafie.com that the incident occurred at Jisonayili a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis when two gunmen attacked and snatched the vehicle from him.

“It was around 11:30 pm when I went to a nearby drinking spot close to Jiso Plaza to grab something for myself. The bar attendant was almost closing but just when I got on the vehicle, the two criminals who may have been monitoring my movements pointed a gun at me and took the vehicle”, he revealed.

According to him, his saviour was a tracker he had installed on the vehicle and the fact there was not enough fuel in the car that did not save the criminals from speeding off towards the Bolga direction.
