“The NPA said in September of last year that CRM will be fully implemented across the nation. Licenses to start installing cylinder exchange stations and other infrastructure for LPG distribution were given to a number of service providers.
We are pleased to notify you that in the upcoming weeks, Ghanaians will start exchanging their old cylinders for new ones under the CRM. As a result, you’ll start to see locations in your neighborhood where you can get LPG without having to go far.
She did, however, reassure that NPA has put in place certain measures to guarantee that the CRM installation won’t result in a significant increase in LPG prices.
“We have instituted a tender program to lower the premium on our LPG purchase. The savings (more than $70/mt) have covered the $80/mt that CRM brings with it for the investment in cylinders and bottling plants.
“We’re not stopping there, she continued. We’re still talking to the Ministry of Finance about removing some tariffs in order to lower the cost of LPG and make it more accessible to everyone.
