According to Kofi Bentil, vice president of IMANI Africa, Ghana is a sovereign State that must protect its citizens from their own foolishness.
He said the government ought to put more effort into dealing with the actual issues Ghanaians were facing rather than just plain foolishness.
Insofar as Ghanaians enjoy the right to free expression, association, and worship, he claimed that it also comes with some level of responsibility.
After learning on Saturday that Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess, had exposed her church members to yet another “sika gari” scam at her Heavenway Champion International Ministry, Bentil posted on his Facebook timeline.
Later, the police announced that the former fetish priestess turned evangelist had been detained and was collaborating with the investigation.
In his article, Kofi Bentil wrote: “Freedom requires accountability!!!
“The State is under no obligation to save a person from their own foolishness. Instead than just being foolish, we should concentrate on fixing genuine problems.
