Many surviving victims have stated that they can still clearly recall the precise moment when the serial killer’s persona changed. They have frequently stated that there was a noticeable change in the killer’s eyes, and in a flash, the killer’s true violent intentions came to light.
The serial killer and the intended victim struggled against one another, and this led to a fight between Dahmer and Edwards. In a later deposition, Edwards claimed that Dahmer had yelled at him, threatening to eat his heart.
Edwards also admitted in court that he had already accepted death and had told himself, “You might as well die fighting” at that time.
