Theft of enormous sums of money, including £800 and US$114K, from an attorney’s home in Airport Residential

Superintendent Augustine Yirenkyi made the argument that each of the accused individuals resided in a different neighborhood, including Maamobi, Shukura, Santa Maria, Kokomba Market, and Adabraka-Sahara.

On March 26, 2023, at around 2:04 am, Mawuli, David, Joseph, and Richmond are accused of robbing and assaulting the complainant, Attorney Hamida, while the other conspirators surround the home.

Mawuli, who was fully clothed in black, wearing a mask, and carrying a weapon, broke into the complainant’s room, attacked her, and stole US$114, 500.00, GH50,000.00, £800, and €3,000 from a trunk in her closet.

According to the prosecutor, Mawuli also stole Gh2,000.00 and US$800.00 along with undetermined sums of other foreign money and jewelry.

He claimed that when A1 had finished looting the complainant, he told her to stay in the room or face death.

After the event, Attorney Hamida reported it to the police, and as a result of their investigation, Joseph was apprehended. Joseph was seen by a CCTV camera riding up on a motorbike. The CCTV system also recorded Mawuli coming into and leaving the complainant’s house.

Contrarily, Richard was detained after flaunting his portion of the loot at Gaza Spot. He admitted to the police investigation team that Mawuli forcibly grabbed one of the rings he had been given as his share from him by David, who had given it to him instead.

Malik, who was also detained, said that he had given Mustapha and Zuberu their portion of the loot.

Following their arrest, Malik and Dennis confessed to handing Mustapha GH2,000.00 from Malik’s portion of the March 27, 2023 heist.
