Asamoah Gyan, a legend in Ghana, predicts that the Black Stars would easily advance from their group.
Ghana has been placed in Group H together with Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay after securing qualifying for the World Cup.
Gyan thinks the Black Stars have what it takes to advance from their group, despite the fact that several Ghanaians did not rate the team’s chances before to the international competition.
We can easily qualify from our group, he told Kessben FM in Kumasi.
We were the underdogs in 2006 when competing against the Czech Republic and Italy; yet, we went and gave a good performance.
“The same things occurred in 2010. By competing in the quarterfinals, we went there and raised the Ghanaian flag high.
“Qualifying from your group is conceivable, so I think that these guys can do that. Qualifying from your group is necessary before you can win the World Cup.
He continued, “The players must think they can accomplish it and that it is doable.
At Stadium 974 in Doha, Ghana’s campaign will get underway against Portugal on November 24.
The Black Stars are back in action four days later when they play South Korea at Al Rayyan’s Education City Stadium.
At Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, Ghana will conclude their exciting group stage journey with their much awaited matchup with Uruguay.
In their most recent World Cup appearance in Brazil, the Black Stars were unable to advance past the group stage.
