President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been ordered by Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to bring legal action against people who are involved in galamsey within his inner circle in order to demonstrate his commitment to the cause.
He stated, “The administration is being rhetorical instead of cracking the whip on its own officials who are involved in unlawful small-scale mining, that is galamsey,” during a press conference on Thursday, October 6.
“The people of Ghana are sick of your pretentious statements and pointless rhetoric. The so-called campaign to end “galamsey” has been an abject failure, and the only way to save it is for you to grow a pair and start disciplining your wayward appointments and NPP officials who are deeply involved in the “galamsey” business.
The evidence is clear for Andy Owusu, Ekow Ewusi, Prof. Frimpong Boateng, and other NPP functionaries and officials, including Charles Bissue, Chairman Wontumi, and Prof. Frimpong Boateng, among others. Sammy Gyamfi demanded the immediate prosecution of all NPP functionaries and officials who had engaged in illegal mining.
