The majority leader said that when a number of NPP MPs publicly demanded the expulsion of the finance minister, it actually needed his involvement to restore calm.
“We would have been in trouble given the way the situation began if a colleague had not pointed at the need for me to step in. We were intended to deliver the budget today, on November 15, but we had to postpone it until next Wednesday, November 24, as I realised we might not be ready. I sat down with the finance minister and we decided to put it off. What if I choose to stand by and let everything come apart after you do this and then accuse me of starting it?” He declared.
Public demands for Ken Ofori-dismissal Atta’s have been made, with his detractors holding him accountable for Ghana’s current economic difficulties.
The expulsion of the minister was recently sought by NPP lawmakers in a press conference, who said doing so would assist rebuild trust in the Ghanaian economy.
